The tournament is different in their minds from the league. You can be league champs and not tournament champs and vise-versa. (Though not vise-versa for us, it seems.) That said, they pretty much did the opposite of seeding for the first round. Because they also used it to settle ties from the season. This must mean that the weekly standings don't show true tie breakers and we did indeed win the second half.		Rate this comment Yours: Rated 0 times.

Two of the teams from the other league play each other in a 2nd place game. I believe this is because in that league, one team (Valleybrook) went undefeated in both halves and so is already the champion of that league.		Rate this comment Yours: Rated 0 times.

I subbed in a doubleheader for a coworker's brother's work team last night. Officially I was 1-5 except in the bottom of the 7th of the 2nd game that we lost 2-3 I lead off the inning with what I'm absolutely positive was an infield single to the shortstop but I got called out at first. But I played some mean 2nd base including turning a double play, cleanly fielding about 3 grounders, digging a one hop throw from the 3rd baseman, and that was just in the 2nd game since I was that last to join for the 1st game I just hit that game. I got an email. It didn't say much, but it did say: "All games scheduled the week of August 4th will be posted next Friday 8/1." Which now that I think of it doesn't really mean we have another game because some leagues don't start playoffs until next week, so maybe that's for them. Last year was actually the first year they did something kind of different with the playoffs by having it tournament style and having every team play. We never participated in the old style, but I think it pitted the 1st and 2nd half winners against each other and if it was the same team, I forgot if they played the 2nd place team or they played someone else or something. Anyway, it looks like they might have combined the two systems. Everyone is playing, but it looks like you still have to be one of the top 2 teams to compete for the championship. Maybe they'll take winners and have them compete against the winners from another league or the equivalent.		Rate this comment Yours: Rated 0 times.
