Ravens 31 @ Patriots 35

Ravens have given the Patriots trouble in past playoffs. Can Tom Brady make it to another Super Bowl? Oh boy I hope so. #Yawn.

People are talking possible upset here. Seems weird to me, but I haven't really looked into it.

Panthers 17 @ Seahawks 31

An upset here would be brilliant. #holdmydick

Seattle Seahawks have the same three letters at the start of their nickname and place name. Let's name other teams like that. Philadelphia Phillies. Any others?

Cowboys 21 @ Packers 26

An 8-0 road team against an 8-0 home team. Ice Bowl Deux. Still hate the Cowboys from crushing what could've been quite the dynasty in the 90's. #Packers
Guess we'll just have to watch and see especially Rodgers' leg. #miraclecure #reggiewhite

Packers seem like they're capable of higher highs, but I feel like the Cowboys are the more balanced team. I say "feel" because I really haven't watched the Cowboys enough to get a good read on them. But my feeling on the Packers is that the play of Rodgers covers over a lot of weaknesses the team has. It's not that they're necessarily bad in other areas, but they're at least ordinary. To put it another way, can the Packers win without Rodgers having a good game?
8-0 on the road vs 8-0 at home. The immovable object vs. the unstoppable force. The torn calf vs. the broken back. Green Bay's team vs. America's team. Who ya got? In the cold weather game you've gotta go with the home team, right? I mean, why would you possibly pick against the kid from Chico, California? With a bum wheel.
I dunno, this game's got a lot going for it. Obviously the Rodgers injury is the biggest wild card. What are we going to get? The "flu game"? Willis Reed? A completely ordinary game? And finally, when will I fall asleep? First half? Second half? After the game? It's playoff football!

Colts 24 @ Broncos 13

Peyton manning used to be a Colt. I wonder if that will come up.

It's Manning vs his old team! As I've said repeatedly, I haven't seen Peyton throw a good throw in quite some time and now it looks like that's actually the case. He's winding down folks. Still, going with all home teams and playing it safe.

Jon
The Colts are starting to get out of their depth in the playoffs. Still, the Broncos haven't looked as dominant lately, and a loss to his old team seems like just the kind of loss that would happen to Peyton Manning.

An interesting observation for those that care:

In the first half of the season, the packers on defense were giving up on average 153 rushing yards per game. For the Packers 9th game of the season (and then all subsequent games) the Packers move Clay Matthews inside primarily while occasionally lining him up on the outside at times. Since that adjustment, the Packers have allowed 86 rushing yards per game. That first game Matthews in the middle against the Bears the Packers gave up only 55 rushing yards after allowing the bears 235 yards the first time they played.

By comparison, the Seahawks have averaged 81.5 rushing yards per game for the season (83 first half of the season, 80 2nd half). So quite possibly the Packers have turned their rush defense into a fairly respectable force.

I don't know what that means for the Seattle game, but I know that it likely means the Packers run defense is significantly improved from the first half of the season.

Since I'm picking through stats, here's another interesting tidbit:
The Seahawks average 24 more yards allowed at home on average than they do on the road.
