Panthers 35 @ Vikings 10 |
JeremyPonder or Cassel?
SarahMy heart is aching for AP. I can't even imagine how he feels. Whether or not he plays, I think the Vikings will soundly beat the Panthers.
JonI like Matt Cassel as the QB. At least for now. |
Packers 19 @ Ravens 17 |
SarahWith Clay out for awhile, our defense just won't be the same. Tough game.
JonReally not sure how good either of these teams is, but I'm fairly confident Rodgers is better than Flacco. |
Commanders 16 @ Cowboys 31 |
SarahI'm picking the Cowboys but I'm not sure if they can come back from last week's debacle. They seem overly emotional when it comes to those types of things.
JonI don't understand the obsession with criticizing Tony Romo. |
Colts 9 @ Chargers 19 |
SarahColts are one of the elite teams this year. Chargers are not.
JonSpeaking of obsessive criticism, people are backpedaling off the Phillip Rivers detractor bandwagon as quickly as they jumped on. |

Packers-Ravens At the beginning of the year I had this game down as a Packers loss. My view has since changed (possibly because the Ravens decided to absorb all their power into a mobidly obese contract for an above average QB at the expense of 3 or 4 major pieces of their Super Bowl team). The Ravens are a very pedestrian team so far, not really excelling in any one area (14th in defense and 21st in offensive yds/game--They are 2nd in the league in sacks, but they still are only 16th in overall pass defense). The Packers will be without Matthews for at least a month, but their linebacking corpse shown some promise in the Lions game in his absence. His absence will be felt, but the 2013 Packers might be a little more capable of handling life without Clay better than past teams. The Packers have the 5th best rush defense (vs the Ravens 27th ranked rush offense), and more remarkably the Packers have the 5th best rush offense. If the Packers pull out a win, then my 12-4 season prediction is back on track. (for the record, based on my pre-season prediction, the Packers would have been 3-2 after 5 games). |

AJ Hawk? |

Ha. AJ Hawk provides very little other than "on field leadership", in that he's the one with the radio in his helmet (that is, when his helmet actually stays on his head). Nick Perry had two sacks late after Matthews went out. And Mike Neal has been fairly effective transitioning from defensive lineman to linebacker. |

Still, I'm sure he tries hard. No need to call him names. |

Oh, I get it. corps? Oddly enough, when I read the comment you quoted, the thing I noticed was that I typed "shown" when it should have been "showed". The fact that I refered to their linebackers as dead bodies failed to leave an impression on me.

Continuing the Vikings QB conumdrum, in the first 3 weeks (just the weeks that Ponder played), Ponder had a better Total QBR than Josh Freeman in 2 of the 3 weeks. And Ponder is ranked 22nd vs Freeman's 31 in Total QBR.

Freeman's bad is just as bad, we just have to hope his good is gooder (and more often) |

On a related note, when I was living in Tampa I won a Josh Freeman jersey from a call-in sports radio show because I knew the answer to who held the record for most interceptions thrown in a single season. (George Blanda, 42 interceptions) And I remember thinking all highly of myself because I was in the car in my pre-smartphone days just picking that answer out of my own, previously gained knowlege. I think the only reason I knew that answer was because of this here website. I've since sold that jersey. |

Going to my first NFL game Sunday. It's not my Eagles but at least I get to see my favorite coach Mr Reid take the chiefs to 6-0 against the raiders. People thought I was crazy when I said the chiefs were gonna be good this year after picking up coach Reid and then Alex Smith. Anyone watching the game keep an eye out for me. I'll be the only Guy close to the endzone wearing all eagles gear..... |

Kansas city is the best. I recommend hitting up Oklahoma Joes and Strouds. Excellent food and atmosphere. You can never go wrong with a waffle house either. Lots of casinos and must see museums, including the Negro League Museum. |

Clay Matthews and Brad Jones (the Packers 2 best linebackers) are ruled out for Sunday's game. But, in a development that should surprise no one, the Ravens WR Anquan Boldin no longer plays for the team, in a clear case of "they're playing the Packers this season so we should dump all our best players."

I'm officially never picking the Vikings again (at least this year). Shocking developments of the season: The Packers have the 3rd best rush defense and the 6th best rush offense. I understand that the season is a little young, and that it's hard to really judge the identity of a team especially if their results are vastly different from past seasons, and I also understand that national TV pundits don't always provide analysis that contains too much insight, but Warren Sapp picked the Ravens to win (which is fine) with the reason being that the Packers are a one dimensional team. He may have been confused, because the Ravens have the 27th ranked rushing offense. Any of my pre-season predictions involving the Packers are pretty much on hold pending news of the Cobb and Jones injuries. Within the last 2 weeks, the Packers have lost 4 of their 6 best players (Rodgers and Raji being the two that are still healthy). Not only that, but if Cobb and Jones are indeed out for any time (even if it's just one game), the Packers only have 2 receivers on their roster. |

Scott Wrote - Today @ 09:10:17 AM I'm officially never picking the Vikings again (at least this year). They do play the winless Giants.....on national TV, probably with a so-so QB they got off the street a week and a half prior. Yeah, I wouldn't pick them either. (Although, I probably will.) |

The Giants are like super bad this year ya? Probably will make it into the playoffs anyway.Jon
Players should basically be able to wear whatever color shoes they want. Stay strong Mr. Marshall.
