Patriots 45 @ Lions 24

If the Lions can win, more power to them. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Only one more day 'til the most important holiday for us capitalists - Black Friday. Sigh.
jon.jpg
Jon
Thanksgiving is such a great holiday. Even without the football it's great, but I almost always enjoy watching the football too. This seems like one of those "don't call it an upset" type of games. I'm wondering if I'll be able to get myself out of bed to watch it.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
I for one am looking forward to my favorite holiday tradition, gathering around the tv to watch the broadcast of the Lions game, 80% of which is spend bemoaning the fact that the Lions always get this broadcast.

Saints 30 @ Cowboys 27

sarah.jpg
Sarah
We'll be taveling during a lot of this game. Safe driving everyone!
jon.jpg
Jon
Be thankful. Seriously. It's better than the alternatives.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
Screw both these teams.

Bengals 10 @ Jets 26

sarah.jpg
Sarah
Weren't the Bengals winning like 28 - 0 @ one point against the Bills last week? Probably not a good team if you blow a lead like that.
jon.jpg
Jon
If you're interested in a challenge, here it is: Let's not merely "feel" thankful. Let's live it out. Tell someone. Show someone.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
Remember when Carson Palmer was a good quarterback? Good times. Luckily he locked himself in the "good" category in the media's guide to storylines, which only get updated ever 10 years, and usually for stupid reasons.

Vikings 17 @ Commanders 13

sarah.jpg
Sarah
Maybe firing your coach will get you a win the following week, but I'm not buying it, despite the Redskins looking horrific as well.
jon.jpg
Jon
I'll take Brad Johnson teams for 1000 Alex.
Actually, it is the start of the Leslie Frazier era, so I should say something more. Go Vikings.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
I wonder if the Vikings maintain their trend of running every first down, and only running stopping routes short of the line of gain without Chilly. I sure hope so. Also, when down by 20, be sure to make 0 attempts to get big chunks of yards, unless of course you need less than 1 yard to keep an important drive alive. In that case bust out the lowest percentage play possible, perhaps something where Favre throws through his legs to an extra offensive tackle running a fly. (Being sure to not report as eligible, then lining up in an illegal formation, so the play doesn't count even if it somehow works out.)

Packers 17 @ Falcons 20

sarah.jpg
Sarah
I never like Packer/Falcon games. Too many bad memories. I could forget some of the bad memories if I had gotten my picture taken with Leroy Butler, a player whose career was ended by those jerks.
jon.jpg
Jon
I'll take Brett Favre teams for 500 Alex.
Go Falcons.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
So far the Packers have played 2 decent teams, but in one of those they were the lucky firsties that got to play half a game against Kolb before Vick took over, clearly would have won, and went on to tear it up. This one should be interesting.

Chargers 36 @ Colts 14

sarah.jpg
Sarah
Wasn't it funy when Manning threw that interception last week to lose the game? The answer is no, 'cause that let the Patriots win. Everyone came out a loser.
jon.jpg
Jon
I'll take Johnny Unitas teams for 800 Alex.
Phillip Rivers is your 2010 MVP. Unless something changes.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
Oh good, I was just thinking I haven't seen the Colts play in the last 5 minutes.

49ers 27 @ Cardinals 6

sarah.jpg
Sarah
Yawn and double yawn.
jon.jpg
Jon
I'll take Garrison Hearst teams for 2000 Alex.
The weather will probably be nice.
jeremy.jpg
Jeremy
I'm not sure this was even a good idea at the time.

For all that's being said about the Falcons and their home dominance (and rightly so), they are currently just a 3 point favorite over the Packers. From a betting standpoint, when the road team is a 3 point underdog, that's more or less a toss up.

From here: When asked how the Packers would deal with the Falcons' unbelievable quarterback, running back, tight end and receiver, defensive player of the year favorite Clay Matthews told us on Sirius NFL Radio, “With our unbelievable line, linebackers, secondary and coaching.” Unbelievable answer.

For reals. Especially Roy Williams whose only job was to not fumble the damn ball.

third three point loss of the season. Man, win a close one sometime. Another game where not having Ryan Grant is glaring you in the face. 0% conversion on third and short, no running game at all. Can't get in on three attempts from goal to go from inside the 5.

B. Jackson isn't very good. But besides that there was at least one play where it was like 2nd and 2 or 1 and instead of just running up the middle for the 1 yard gain that was available, he ran backwards for -6 yards. That's just mental. His decision making is his worst skill, which is inexcusable for a 4th year RB.

On the flip side, they didn't even try to run it most of the time and that was pissing me off. On their first drive in the 4th they did run on 3rd and 1 and Jackson got 12 yards (so they were better than 0%, and they passed for a 1st down on 3rd or 4th and 2 or less yds 3 times). So they are capable, but it's almost like after the first failed "and 1" run that McCarthy just about completely gives up on the run. Arg!

And the spread QB sneak that Rodgers didn't make it on was fine, but QB sneak on 3rd and a full 1 with both sides lined up in max goal line formation? Barf. That's my least favorite play call in that situation. Or 2nd after the hand off to the up-back.

Also, a kick returner should never-ever run backwards. Catch the ball and run forwards. Not sideways or backwards. Either you'll bust through the coverage at speed and have a chance to take it to the house, or you won't. But you take negative yards out of the equation and decrease the chance of holding or blocking in the back. Over than that one time that the Chiefs guy once ran backwards and somehow broke it open, that never works in the NFL. Plus the one time the Packers returner did that part right he got tackled by the kicker emoticon
