Jaguars 20 @ Patriots 31 |
JeremyThe Jags run will end this week.
MattI despise the Patriots (Does that make me a Loyalist?), but they're still gonna win the game.
SarahI really want to pick the Jaguars, I think it could happen. I mean, how lucky have the Patriots been in the last month? I'll be rootin' for the Jaguars fo' sho'.
JonAt home and undefeated, but against a really good team. |
Chargers 28 @ Colts 24 |
JeremyI wonder if there has ever been a season in recent history where the reigning Super Bowl champions are still really really good and yet are so completely forgotten about.
MattManning Brothers power, activate! Shape of a Colt.
SarahThe Colts are definitely an elite team. Plus, they've had time to rest up. The Chargers just can't get it done in the playoffs.
JonThis seems like the lock of the week, but there aren't really locks in football anyway. Here's the thing, if Manning throws 5 interceptions, you still favor them. |
Giants 21 @ Cowboys 17 |
JeremyThey say it's tough to beat someone 3 times in one year. Obviously winning this one would make up for the 2 regular season losses. Here's to Plexico Burress mooning the crowd.
MattForm of an ice menorah.
SarahHere's the thing, the Cowboys haven't played that well in awhile. T.O. might not even be on the field. Romo might not be 100%. The Giants came into the playoffs feelin' pretty good about themselves. Plus, it's hard to beat a team 3 times in 1 season. I'm going with the Giants on this one. I'll probably be wrong, but we shall see, we shall see.
JonThe Giants are kind of one of my favorite teams. But the Cowboys are consistently better, but just by a small amount. |

yep here is what i have to say Seattle @ Green Bay Well lets see here i am kinda scared about seattle but you know its one of those game which i think favre will pull through with in the end. Statistically this season Brett favre has thrown less than Hasselback in attempts, but he beats him in actual completions... which defintley says Favre has a better completion rating then hasselback. everything is basically tied...Ryan grant has more rushing yards than both alexander and morris... so i was going with green bay but i am even more convinced now....also I have to say that i dont think seattle has a good of a divison as Green bay despite the fact no one from our division got to the playoffs either..Pack wins it by 9 pts Jacksonville @ New England Well this is basically a no brainer a repeat of last year... Patriots win this won by a 10 pt margin but it wont be enough for your uncle charlie to still say they can come back with an onside kick and win the game...Pats win it by 10 San Deigo @ Indianapolis Well I have personally always enjoyed watching Manning play almost as much as i do favre... he seems like he is always underestimated... I think they colts have to come into this game and absolutley crush them and leave no remains...and i think Indy will win it by 16 New York @ Dallas Dallas will come into this game and trying to prove something to the people in dallas... now that i think of it... i might just go for the giants...i mean i think the cowboys are spirling out of control here... i think the giants have found their way....The Giants win it by 5 btw look at alex's comment he basically say it all.. and Romo took a vacation hahahahahahahaha! who does he think he is? NFC CHAMPIONSHIP New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers(packer win) Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots(colt win) NFL SUPER BOWL CHAMIPIONSHIP Green Bay Packers vs Indianapolis Colts (Packer win) |

I don't like your comparitive stats on Favre and Hasselboy, Jfk, but I do think we can pull it off. Turns out I like Jeremy's picks exactly.... jerk...! Something in me wants the G Men to beat Dallas, but I don't know what it is; maybe I think they are the true Rudy this year. |

Seahawks @ Packers There's really no good reason to not pick the Packers. Actually total season stats for both teams are pretty equal, except that Green Bay has 3 more wins and according to Jeff Sagarin NFL ratings the Packers were 19th is strength of schedule while the Seahawks were dead last (that's 32nd if udk). Also according to his best predictor rating the Packers are 5th and the Seahawks 10th, and this game is in Green Bay. Jaguars @ Patriots I'd like to pick the Jags, and would give it more consideration if their D-Line was healthy. But I just can't do it. Chargers @ Colts According to the Sagarin rankings, the Colts are #2 and the Chargers are 4th. But I think the Colts D will win the game for them, especially if Gates isn't 100%. Plus the Colts have basically just been plodding along and waiting for the playoffs to start. These are the 2 closest ranked teams, but I think it'll be the biggest margin of victory. Colts in a landslide. Giants @ Cowboys This game features #3 vs #7. I'm going with the Giants in more a gut choice/chemistry/momentum pick than a statistical analysis. At this point of the season I really don't trust Romo any more than I trust Little Brother. Romo's last 3 games - 1 TD, 5 TOs (not that kind silly!) Eli's last 3 games - 6 TDs, 5 TOs |

NE 27-17 SD vs Ind No way Colts screw it up this time. Get ready for Colts-Pats next week!! Colts 28-13 NYG vs Dal Eli returns to usual form. Romo lights up that secondary. Boys 31-20 |

If one pass ever summed up Favre's entire career, that was it. I'm sure we'll be seeing that one for a while. Also, that was probably the best 28 minutes of any half I have ever seen. If it weren't for those fumbles, the packers could possibly be up about 35-0 right now. I hope they can hold off from those early mistakes, because they are only up by 11. |

I'll actually admit that was kinda weak. But the D-lineman clearly accelerated after Favre threw. Still, I'll concede. |

While they didn't have many options at the RB position, it takes guts to have faith in a rookie running back who just fumbled twice in 3 plays. After that start, who would have thought we'd be saying that Ryan Grant finished with over 200 yards on the ground. |

Well, go Giants. Although, I think the Packers would have blown out the Patriots the way they played today, so playing in Dallas doesn't seem that daunting.

You guys are aware no one here actually invented that phrase....right? ESPN changed their scoring thing that I was parsing, as such the live scoring was down earlier, I found a scoring feed that was made for "computer use" and changed over to using that. This new feed contains who has the ball and if the team is in the red zone, so I show that now as well. Let me know if you see something funky. (Note: I realize that no one is actually using these pages to check live scores, but that way no one has to enter anything when the games are done, and as long as I'm checking to see the scores and whatnot, I may as well show them.) |

Jeremy Wrote - 01/12/2008 @ 07:53:44 PM You guys are aware no one here actually invented that phrase....right? Uh, yeah. It's the coincidence that's comical. EDIT(tm):The term in a nutshell originally comes from the Iliad. Supposedly, the whole Iliad was written on a piece of parchment which might be put into a nutshell. In an experiment in 1829, a copy was printed on pages one inch square, each page containing 26 lines and each line 44 letters. This was then engraved on a plate one inch square containing 12,000 letters. The Iliad contains 501,930 letters, and would therefore occupy 42 such plates engraved on both sides, then after printing, the copy could indeed fit in a nutshell. Some have also seen the entire Koran in a parchment roll four inches wide and half an inch in diameter. The first time the phrase was used as a metaphor was in 1602 by Shakespeare. |

Anybody see the T.O. press conference? Makes you almost feel for the guy until you remember all the trash talking he does... I was watching some packer show tonight for a bit, Larry's locker room show or whatever... but anyway Larry poked fun at a crying T.O. at the beginning of the show showing the same snippet 'Not fair...'. Not sure if that was appropriate, but T.O. is a bit of a bastard I guess. |

lol yep u know my title has been always "BRETT FAVRE IS GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL" well looks like its 1 game away from happening! And btw i think T.O. should quit crying like a little ***** cause he is the one with the Touchdown Towel and the bring some popcorn... he got what he rightfully deserved a loss is a loss dont try and change the feelings of anger from your fans into sympathy cause frankly im sick of it and i think its...u-u-unfa-ir..... However the Colts loss disapointed me i mean the chargers sweeped em up and i think they were the only team that were destined to stop the patriots and know they are gone i am fearing another Green Bay v Patriot Super Bowl....thats right the 1996 one the one that we won...well yea i have a bad feeling about this one....burrrr.... someone turn on a heater... |

I'm nervous, but as long as they play how they're supposed to play and have played (and there isn't any wind) the Pack will rule the day!Jon
Here's the thing about the wilcard weekend winners. They look good because they just won. But Green Bay has an ability to win games. They're kind of unspectacularly good.
