Cowboys 20 @ Panthers 13 |
JeremyThe Cowboys better not lose again. Jessica Simpson needs to stay home.
MattWhy do we have to comment on the NFL Network games when nobody can even watch them?
JonHey did you realize that Tony Romo invited Jessica Simpson to last week's game? Why didn't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?
SarahGo Panthers Go! The Eagles were my friends for one week, and it was a good thing. The Packers beat one of these teams, and will beat one of these in the post season. |
Packers 7 @ Bears 35 |
JeremyThe Bears are an awful awful offense. If you don't spot them points they aren't going anywhere.
MattK-Ort will be victorious.
JonSeason Sweep! | |
SarahIt's payback biotch! |
Commanders 32 @ Vikings 21 |
JeremyThe Vikings tied their team record for plays over 50 yards from the 1998 season.....that's pretty wild.
MattThe biggest Pro Bowl snub? Chris Kluwe
JonRemember how the Vikings got robbed in K.C.?
SarahWhen the Vikings won last week they kicked a lot of people out of the playoff race. Good game, good game, good game good game.Packers beat both of these teams. |
Broncos 3 @ Chargers 23 |
JeremySeriously, what's the deal with the Chargers?
MattThe Broncos suck. Chargers 36 - Broncos 22
JonTomlinson runs for 200 in the first half.
SarahPackers beat both of these teams. Hoo Ha. |

So in my 3 head-to-head leagues I finished 3, 4, and 4, including at least one 6 week winning streak in thelast 6 weeks on one of the 4th place teams. And then made the championship game in all 3. Yay for a playoff system! |

Shameless plugs get 5 trees, Matt! I picked the Redskins, since we need some Karma. From what I hear, you don't just go around beating teams 3 times in a season unless your name is Tim Bradley and you are #11 for some patriotic east-coast team. |

I'd say it's really about a horse a piece. Home-field is one thing, but the Packers really aren't a cold/bad weather team this year. 5 WR sets just don't work then, and the Packer's running game has been better the 2nd half of the year but probably the biggest reason for that is teams are so worried about the pass. If this was the first time they would going (potentially) to Dallas this year, I'd be more worried. Now that Favre has already gone there and dropped a stink-bomb, I'll think he and the coaches will be better prepared if there is a next time. Despite the terrible game today, I'm really feeling pretty good about things. |

True in a sense, but those were pretty adverse conditions. The one thing that no team can really prepare for is wind. On this same note, the Packers might actually be better off playing on turf. So playing in Dallas for the NFC championship game might not be that bad. Plus, that would end this season in a storybook type fashion. Brett Favre goes back into Dallas and wins there for the first time to make it to his final Super Bowl victory. |

I just want to rub it in some more that the fact that the Packers lost to the Bears will likely mean that the Vikings will miss the playoffs. With the Packers loss, the Cowboys have clinched the number one seed in the NFC. They will likely sit a lot of their starters next week against the Redskins. The Vikings need to win and have the Redskins lose in order to make the playoffs. Had the Packers won, the Cowboys would have played their regulars, but now the Redskins will be playing the Cowboys B team. Ha. It's a great thing when a Packers loss can also be a win.

lol....im with alex on this one to me it just doesnt seem that bad that the pack lost... i think that brett favre is alot older and i dont think he is what he used to be in the cold... maybe they would have won withought the wind.. we will never know.... but i feel more comfortable in dallas... i hope T.O. is out for the season that would make me feel more comfortable in my football chair... so who do the packers play in the divisional playoffs as of right now... and lets not count that out either... we need to take it one game at a time or we will stumble....btw happy holidays and dont get drunk adn party too much cause i know i will and we dont want the jail cells to fill up with a bunch of us now do we? |

The older I get (I'm ancient at 27) I feel I'm better with the cold. Get me closer to 50, though, and I think that will change. The Winter of aught four was a bad one for me though- a year in the heat will do that too you. Hey, I got my first trophy :-) |

My turn to be a stats monkey: Of the top 8 teams listed in this week's power rankings (as edited by me), here are some Superbowl stats: 1 Pats- 5 trips, 3 wins (02, 04, 05) 2 Lost 2 Colts (Balt/Ind)- 3 trips, 2 (71, 07) and 1 3 Cowboys- 8, 5 (72, 78, 93, 94, 96) and 3 (tied most SB wins)* 4 Packers- 4, 3 (67, 68, 97) and 1 5 Jags- Superbowl Virgins 6 Chargers- 1, 0 and 1 7 Steelers- 6, 5 (75, 76, 79, 80, 06) and 1 (tied most SB wins)* 8 Titans (nee Oilers)- 1, 0 and 1 *- Tied for 5 Superbowl wins- Cowboys, Steelers, and 49ers. Atleast they Knocked- Bills (4) Vikes(4) Eagles, Bengals (2) Falcons, Panthers, Chargers, Seahawks, Titans, (1) Don't Stop Believing- Cardinals, Lions, Browns, Saints, Jags, Texans. Interesting: Between 1920 and 1932, before the merger, the NFL was still quite active with some teams that still play today. Among them: Green Bay Packers- won 29, 30, 31 Chicago Stanleys (nka Chicago Bears) won 21, 32 New York Giants- won 27 Chicago Cardinals (nka Arizona) won 25 That took me about half an hour to compile. I'm bored as hell at work. I should start doing my taxes, eh Sarah? |

You won't be able to. Congress didn't pass the AMT patch until last week, so people won't be able to e-file until late February/early March. Hurrah! |

How much would you charge to do my taxes? I've had four jobs for FY 2007, and lived in two states. For my Fed Gov job, I continue to pay taxes as if I live in WI I think... is that bad? |

Scott Wrote - 12/26/2007 @ 11:11:08 AM Also, I was home for Christmas, and the cold really didn't bother me at all. Weird. You were home for Christmas?! And I suppose you chose to spend time with your family rather than drive the 3 1/2 hours to spend time with me? Bros before relativos, Scott! And you better have flown into Milwaukee, because if you came through MSP and breezed by without a mention, then I will have to assume that the Florida sun has done damage to your brain. Wear your sunscreen please. |

No, I flew in to Chicago, had my flight to Wausau cancelled, caught a bus to Milwaukee, and my Parents drove all the way down to pick me up. Also, I flew in on Friday, December 21st, and didn't get my luggage until Monday, December 24th. |
