Jeremy, I rated your "F5" comment a 5 nut, someone must have rated it a 0 nut. I just felt you deserved to know. |

Along Scott's game comment, how are the Colts "heavy" favorites here? This year has been all about everyone telling us how great the Bears are. The playoffs have been all about how it's just a matter of time before the Colts lose. Suddenly it's these 2 teams and the Colts are favored. |

Back on Alex's comment: Don't forget about us sending the 80 meg Matrix trailer when sending a 1 meg file was extra credit. I never understood that, for the most part isn't it going to send a file or not? |

I really don't remember the particulars anymore, but I would assume you could write a particulary horrendous performing application that ate memory and cpu like none other at which point the size of the file became a limiting factor. Fortunately for us, we knew nothing about writing bad code. |

In regards to the Colts being heavily favored: Maybe the odds makers see this as a really good matchup for the Colts. It doesn't make sense on paper necessarily, but that's the only explanation. Seriously, it's the only explanation, because there is no way the Colts are actually that big of favorites on paper. |

That's the only one that even rates above 1 on a scale of 1-10 of funniness. And it'd be generous to give even that one more than a 2. So from now on I'll assume that pretty = not. |

I disagree, not about that list being a complete unfunny waste of time, but that the players comeback to the question "What is your relationship to the football?" was the funniest. Of course it's like picking a funniest documentary on the Holocaust, so take that for what it's worth. |

Someone just found Nutcan by Googling "picture of the two quarterbacks that are playing in the superbowl this sunday 2/4/07" This person obviously needs a class in searching the internets. |

Which version of Vista did you get? And does anyone else have Vista yet? Anyone buy a laptop recently? Anyone who has a laptop, what kind of video card do you have/recommend? |

I was a Vista beta tester. It wasn't anything to write home about, though performance improved dramatically from release candidate 1 to RC2. My laptop wasn't capable of running the Aero Glass effects, so I never saw that. Sarah has a brand new laptop. Unless you plan to really break the bank on a laptop the video card is irrelevent. You wont be gaming on it. Sarah did get a voucher for a free copy of Vista. |

Proof that two weeks is too long for a Super Bowl layoff. Video card conversation on a Super Bowl thread. I'm sure you were waiting to talk about football til I got here and really broke things down. |

Colts 29 @ Bears 17
Jeremy
I really hope Peyton gets the monkey off his back here. Not because I love him, but because I'm sick of hearing about the damn monkey. Oh, and regardless of the outcome of this game, the Bears still suck.Matt
I'm picking the Colts because I like them more.Jon
Most people seem to like the Colts to win this game. And initially, I was in agreement. But a few things bother me about that. For one, it seems like recent history has shown that anytime everyone picks a team in a championship game, odds are good it will go the other way. Two, since the Bears started winning ugly, people are really into thinking they suck. Interesting, though, since they've still only lost three games. Isn't winning even though you played poorly in many aspects a good sign that you're a good team?
Three, there's this idea that Rex Grossman has to play well, or at least not play badly for Chicago to win. I don't doubt that this will help tremendously, but in reality, that doesn't seem to have necessarily been the case during the year. Kevin Blackistone said something to that point, that I agree with. Basically, that in reality Grossman could play good, bad, or indifferent. The key to the Bears winning is their running game and defense. Everyone remembers the Arizona game. Grossman threw for 34 yards in the Vikings game. Bad teams, sure, but Chicago nearly beat New England with Grossman thorwing 3 interceptions and zero touchdowns.
Look, I agree that if he throws 4 interceptions, they'll probably lose. But I don't think it's that big of a stretch to think he could throw three and Chicago could still win.
Personally, I think this game will feature at least one defensive or special teams touchdown from Chicago and maybe one from Indianapolis too. Also, I could see Manning picking apart the defense to an extent, but remember, this defense is pretty talented. Sure they sucked against Seattle (a terrible team), but they did come through the next week. Indianapolis' defense has been shaky, despite some recent successes.
All that said, I'm still going to pick the Colts. Aside from the Vikings, I think they're the hardest team for me to pick against. I think two weeks is a long time for Manning to study the Bears. Plus, did you notice how the Colts were able to take such an early hit from New England and still win? Good coaching, great players, or whatever it might be, that's a good team.
Sarah
Here's to Tony Dungy's team finally winning one. He got screwed in Tampa Bay.Here's to Favre coming back, screw you Manning!
Scott
Great offense vs great defense and a decent offense vs a decent/poor defense. I am clearly talking about the Colts great offense and decent/poor defense and the Bears great defense and decent offense. This game really is somewhat of a toss-up for me. I could see a huge shootout between both teams, or it could end up being a defensive struggle with the special teams determining the outcome. Either way, I'm going with the Colts. I would like to see Peyton Manning win this. He certainly has paid his dues.
