Jaguars 23 @ Steelers 17 |
JeremyJerome Bettis looks like he was trying to single handedly win the Super Bowl last week. He ran with the kind of authority and reckless abandon that can only lead to a player being out for the season after 3 weeks.
MattI must have accidentally marked this game for comment when I was entering the games this week. Oh, well.Steelers 23 - Jaguars 16
JonPittsburgh is a really good team. You know who else is good? Bill Cower. He doesn't get a lot of hype cause he hasn't got the rings or something, but he's won a lot of games.
SarahAh Jacksonville pulling the ol' upset against the unstoppable bungles last week. Eh. |
Texans 10 @ Seahawks 42 |
JeremyGiant frogs, Giant frogs...what can I say? Back to you.
MattHouston sucks, almost as bad as football itself.Seahawks 43 - Texans 11
JonHouston still has some of the best uniforms in the league.
SarahSo... why do I care about this game? I don't. I don't care about any games this week. They mean nothing. I hope the bears and vikings tie. |
Rams 28 @ Colts 45 |
JeremySomehow Indy returned essentially the same team and found themselves allowing 3 points a game and scoring 6. What the hell man?
MattI miss the St. Louis Football Cardinals.Colts 23 - Rams 15
JonThe first real threat that the Indianapolis defense has to face. However, Peyton Manning will probably throw for more yards in this game than he has all season up to now. Regardless, Get well Mike Martz.
SarahI'm tired of Indy. But at least no one is talking about Peyton Manning this year. Ha ha suckers who took him as the first pick for fantasy football. Ha ha i say! I see that we are not commenting on the Lions game, wtg Matt. You suck. |

9 of the 14 games this week resulted in the Page 3 staff all picking the same team. Weird. |

it's too bad there weren't any good college football games on Saturday. Such a boring day. |

that last comment was mine. So at what point during today's game will Fred Smoot soliciate a fan to have sex with him on the field? Am I right? If the Vikings EVER needed a win in their entire existance, I think this would be the week. A win puts them back in somewhat good standings and restores a bit of their respect around the league. A loss basically validates their off the field antics and they continue their downward spiral for the rest of the season. That said, go Bears. |

ok, one botched snap, one botched kick. How many ways are there to miss a field goal. I'm guessing we're going to find out today. |

To take your mind off how much the Vikings suck, here is your Week Six Trivia Question: In 1949, Harry S. Truman appointed a woman to this position within the Federal Government. Since then, every subsequent appointment (13 of them) to this post has been a woman. Name the position. |

I really don't think it's fair to imply the Vikings lost because of the cruise ship incident which in and of itself was blown way out of proportions. The Vikes haven't won in Chicago for 5 years and are like 2 and a million outdoors over that span (guess where the 2 came from.) It would have been a tough win regardless of the situation, and I don't think there's a lot more to read into the situation. |

Even though I'm pretty sure nobody cares, I'll give a hint for the Trivia Question. The position in question is part of the 2nd oldest Department in the Cabinet, yet the position itself is actually older than the Department. |

so 3 of the Vikings 4 losses have been a difference of 20 points or more. 3 of the Packers 4 losses have been a difference of 3 points or less. I know the Vikings have played a few tougher teams so far, and the Packers played against a High School team last week in their biggest win in like 30 years, but that doesn't change the fact that the Vikings just lost to the bears by 25 points. This could be a pretty good match up of 2 last place teams. |

The Bears also have arguably the best defense in the league. I think anyone who watched the game yesterday would have to agree that it was in no way shape or form the blowout the score made it look like. Bottom line is a loss is a loss and we'll get to battle over sole possesion of last place in the worst division in football in a handful of days. Maybe we really want Reggie Bush and you really want Lienert or something. |

I watched the game, and it wasn't a blowout in the sense that the Bears completely dominated in every. But basically, it seemed that the Vikings were trying their best to find ways to screw something up. But again, this might just be me but I'll say it anyway, I don't think the Packers have looked nearly as incompetent as the Vikings have. But I think it's because teams always lay down when the Packers play them, and teams always play like Super Bowl champs when the Vikings play them. Either way, the Packers are making the playoffs:) |

Yahoo took away one of Atlanta's def/special teams td's, I assume the blocked fg return. It dropped me below Alex. No one seems to know why they took the points away. |

Last few days summary: Saturday - went fishing again, cast for muskies for about 5 hours got nothing, pulled out my 5 foot ultralight rod with 6 pound test to catch some bluegills, did so, then hooked a 30-35" muskie that ended up busting the line by getting wrapped around the trolling motor, listened to the badgers during this of course, pretty lucky but i'll take it Sunday - at my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, didn't get to watch much football, Sox win in 5 as I predicted, other series is 3-1 but the opposite of what I predicted Monday - Colts can't be beaten and will go undefeated, Lidge chokes with Astros 1 out from the WS, why would you pitch to Pujols? Badgers debut at 14th in the BCS, will need about 20 miracles to have a chance at the title game even if they don't lose again. Week 6 NFL summary - I'm not doing good in FF this year. 7 out of 13 here, my head2head t34m5 are 3-3, 3-3, and 2-4. Biggest problem is I have no Alexander or Tomlinson who have been basically one man teams this year. |

I accidentally had Inside the HBO with Dan Marino, Cris Carter, and Cris Collinsworth on in Spanish. They were doing like quick questions or something. The bottom of the screen said "Best of the worst" and it was talking about the NFC North. It went to Cris Carter and he's talking in spanish "spanish spanish spanish Minnesota Vikings spanish spanish spanish Chicago Bears spanish spanish spanish Brian Urlacher, Thomas Jones." It then went to Dan Marino, "spanish spanish Packers spanish Brett Favre spanish spanish Brett Favre spanish spanish BRETT FAVRE." LOL! |

Spanish spanish spanish spanish Astros win spanish spanish spanish wooo. Ok, that was fun. So the 2 teams I predicted from the beginning of the playoffs made it to the World Series. Both teams have former Brewers on their team, but I think I'm sticking with my admiration for Phil Garner. |

Vikings 3 @ Bears 28
Jeremy
Sigh. Coming off of a bye, in which nothing out of the ordinary happened, the Vikings head to Chicago where they last won in 1885 when the Bears were called the "Cub Scouts." The mean rag tag group of 10 year olds gave the men all they could dish out. Sadly, however, the Scouts lost the game when their heroic last second 5 point touchdown was called back due to an illegal forward pass.Matt
Fire Mike Tice.Vikings 43 - Bears 42
Jon
Wow. Mike Tice looks like he hasn't slept in about a month.Sarah
I hope half the team gets suspended so then we definitely win on the 23rd. Never forget, the Bears are the Bears and therefore don't take'em. Crap, now i have to change my pick.
