Packers 7 @ Bears 19 |
JeremyGO PACK GO! Seriously though, the Packers could potentially help the Vikings a ton by allowing the Sweep and beating the Bears once or twice. A potential 4 game swing provided by one team.
MattI still won't root for the Packers.
JonThis could be the entire city of Green Bay playing the Bears and I still think Chicago would have the edge. It's a bit of an old joke, but I like it.
SarahIf coincidences are just coincidences, why do they feel so contrived? |
Raiders 10 @ Chargers 34 |
JeremyFor the love of God, get Randy the ball. Maybe make up some sort of guideline for getting him the ball on a certain percentage of plays. That kind of strategery is foolproof.
MattIf the Vikings still had Moss, they would be 11-0 right now.
JonSan Diego seems like they should be a better team, but they might not even make the playoffs.
SarahI was born a loser, but you're one by choice. |
Seahawks 42 @ Eagles 0 |
JeremyI realize they were in the Superbowl last year, but it feels like we comment on Philly every week. Speaking of the Superbowl why did they get the Rolling Stones for the halftime show? Was their logic to have someone play at Superbowl XL that could have played the halftime show at Superbowl I? Wouldn't you want to put your money on a group that doesn't have about a 75% chance of losing at least one member by then? I mean really there's like a 2% chance one keels over before anyone even gets to read this.
MattForget about Shaun Alexander, if the Seahawks want to go anywhere they should run the offense through Bobby Engram.
JonThis is like the "not quite a distinguishable color" jersey game.
SarahWow. Admit it, you just want to play house. Woman, get back in here and make me a sandwich! |

what's the deal with Sarah getting all philosophical and stuff. Man, talk about deep or something. If the Packers know what's good for them, they'll continue their slide and finish 2-14. If Favre really loves the Packers, he'll start throwing some games:) |

Im just flipping a coin from now on as to what receivers I start, because actually starting the ones I think will score points doesnt seem to be working out very well. |

Brett Favre Rule Section 5: If you lay on the ground long enough the Refs will throw a roughing the passer flag. |

You don't think athletes try to take a 'dive' to get the calls? Have you ever seen a basketball game? |

I've been sitting here for five minutes and I honestly have nothing to say. Except that I found out that my cousin and his wife have been looking at buying the basement right next to Jeremy's and Sarah's, but I think they've decided to look for something cheaper. |

I didn't even watch the game, but I know that any reference to any sort of roughing the passer penalties from Jeremy, Jon, or Matt when it involves Brett Favre are completely lame. Seriously, according to these guys Brett Favre has never in his entire career been roughed warranting a penalty. Every single time it's called it is automatic. What's more annoying, Favre praise or Favre bashing. Both take the same amount of intelligence. |

I don't know why pointing out he gets more than his share of the calls would mean he never warrents getting any of them. I don't think one implies the other at all. It has, however, gotten to the point that they can be called ahead of time. (In this case Matt, last week I did.) Usually it goes Packers are screwed, something devastating happens, penalty graphic appears, someone in the room says "Bret Favre Rule", more often than not a cut to the ref to signal roughing the passer is soon to follow. We just thought this particular situation was funny because no one threw a flag on the hit, Favre just lay there grimacing, then all of a sudden someone decided it was roughing the passer after the fact and threw the flag. If you didn't see it you're in no position to question the validity of this claim. It's not a question of other people trying to get the calls or whether or not a play warrents a call. I'm sure you could find a reason that according to the rules every one of his roughing the passer calls had something happen on it. The point it that he gets WAY more of those calls than the average QB. On one play yesterday Brad Johnson was tackled by a player grabbing inside the top of his helmet and pulling him backwards and it didn't get a flag. It was basically facemasking (except above the facemask) and he certainly "touched the QB's head". He was then hogtied and tackled by his head, thrown out of bounds. If this were Brett the sideline would have been choked with penalty flags. Instead there were zero. Case and point: How many times this year have we had this conversation? Because Brad and Daunte have combined for 0 roughing the passer penalties. Favre gets at least one obligatory call a game and half of that time it gets them out of some "we just lost the game" type jam, hence the name "The Bret Favre Rule" |

I could care less about the Packers game and I saw that play. It was a pretty awful call and did come way after the fact. Although I'm probably against more than half of the roughing the passer/late hit penalties. This is FOOTBALL and you have to take your hits. |

I admit I didn't see the play, but maybe if you guys didn't complain about every single call I would take the claim more seriously. I'm just saying that it's annoying, and it takes the same amount of energy and intelligence to argue either side. Get over it. Michael Jordan got some calls in his day. Pro sports today operates where the good players get the benifit of calls sometime. Watch a basketball game with any of the top 25 players in the league and tell me that that particular player is not benefitting somehow from the calls going his way. Maybe the calls aren't always legit, but it is pretty consistant with how pro sports operates on a whole. The good players get calls in their favor. Get over it. Complaining for a week about it every single solitary time he gets a RTP call is not going to change the fact that it happens. Man, lets talk about something intelligent. The Packers are 2-10 and still people need to find something to rag them on. Also, I've heard one of the 3 Viking fan Page3 writers ever admit that a Favre RTP call was legit. So that's how I come up with the idea that none of you think any are legit. Page3 is turning this issue into the new TO. Talk about something else for a change. |

dell sucks. my brother just got a desktop and i spent an hour with him removing a bunch of crap from the system tray, deleting all the shortcuts to internect connection providers and uninstalling all their crap. plus there were about 50 screens on the first startup that said "are u sure you don't need aol or earthlink or whatever the other one was". plus their "customization" is totally bogus. |
