Packers 31 @ Colts 45 |
JeremyWhen Green Bay comes to town you know you're gonna be without one of your stars, this week it's Edge. Don't be surpised when Harrison breaks a finger friday and Manning is out by halftime.
MattI think it's safe to say that Edge is the greatest Irish running back of all time. Colts win 43 - 12.
JonProbably no Edge for this one. You ever eat that Pizza from Pizza Hut called the Edge? It's good stuff. And I like crust, but that pizza has some good stuff on it. This game doesn't look promising for the Packers, but you never know...well sometimes you know, like after the game, but even then they could go back and change the score, I guess.
SarahLike I was telling Matt and Jon today at lunch. It will not bum me out if the Packers lose this game. The Colts are a high scoring AFC team playing their home opener. They may possibly be a better team then us. However, that doesn't mean I won't pick my boys. Heck, we could even win this game. I am however, disappointed that I won't get to watch this game as someone I know is having a baby shower at this time. Who schedules stuff like that during the football season on a Sunday afternoon? I don't understand. I look to see Ahman Green have a big game. I also don't blame him for his fumble, as the ball was visciously stripped from him. I do blame Brian Urlacher for not getting called with an illegal block to the back on Favre on that play though. Packers 35 Colts 28 |
Buccaneers 20 @ Raiders 30 |
JeremyBlah Blah blah Warren Sapp blah Gruden blah blah blah blah Tim Brown.
MattIs there a more overrated coach than Jon Gruden?Oakland by 12.
JonIs it an obligation that I refer to the fact taht these teams were in the Super Bowl two seasons ago? Well, now that that is done, I'll tell you this: Brad Johnson gets no respect! Still, Oakland is better I think.
SarahPossibly the worst Super Bowl ever. Watch Jerry Rice begin his streak again. I am predicting he'll be able to break it. um no. Two teams that are so-so. Should be just as great as the last Sunday night game. TB 3 Oakland 6 |
Cowboys 21 @ Commanders 18 |
JeremyWoo hoo, Cowboys and Indians. At least this one's not on Thanksgiving. Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells Gibbs Parcells...getting old? It will be soon.
MattI should really start my homework now, so I'll just say the Potatos win 23 - 20.
JonDallas has put up some pretty big offensive numbers this year, but is it because they've played bad defenses? Washington got beat by the Giants last week so I think the Cowboys will do the same kind of thing this week, maybe better.
SarahWoo a big rivalry with some old school coaches. Sign me up! Nah. I still don't understand how the Redskins only lost by 6 points last week and yet had 7 turnovers. The Giants must just be that bad. We get to play them next week. :) The Cowboys didn't look that great last week, so they have to start turning things around if they want to get into the playoffs again this year. I'm kidding, it's only week 3. Why do teams already have byes? I think that hurts some teams. I like the fact that the Packers usually have their byes right in the middle of the season. We have ours right before we play the Vikings this year. Muahahahah |

According to almost everything I've read so far, the matchups in the Packers-Colts game tend to favor the Packers. A strong offensive line that shows no signs of weakening is the key to the offense. If James is indeed out, the Packers can concentrate more on the passing game. But the kicker, it's in a dome and on astro-turf. Let's hope the dome demons can be exercised before sunday. |

It really doesn't matter how well they match up to the colts. They're playing in a dome on turf. I go by those stats. However, they just came off a really bad loss, so maybe they'll put on a show, sometimes it's hard to tell. Did anyone know William Henderson did not start against the Bears? :( |

Well, the Packers and Vikes returned the same olines as last year, and the Vikes lead the league in Rushing...so there :) No, but really the rosenthal/kliensasser season ending injuries makes that side of the line a hurting unit. So to sum up wehave 3 guys gone for the year, we're out our #1 and 2 backs our 3rd guy is going to be suspened and we're down to our 3rd string TE....but yeah Grady Jackson is a big loss. ;) |

I wasn't impressed either, I kept having to remind myself that intradivisional games are almost never a blowout regardless of what the teams look like on paper. The Vikes also lost thier best linebacker and their probowl center very early in the game. So they were just as banged up. Grossman was carted off with like a minute left in the game, I hope for the bears' sake he's alright. |

I know the packers lost and all, but Javon walker had a better game than Randy Moss, but moss is on the ESPN voting list for this week's top performers. Walker had 11 rec for 198 yards and 3 tds, while moss had 7/119/2 |

I know. I made the same comment to Jeremy. Heck, reggie wayne had a better game than randy moss. But, they must not be able to nominate people from the same game or something. I just feel so bad for walker. he had a career game, an awesome game. then he has a game losing fumble and they take three yards away from his stats so that he doesn't have over 200 yards. the dejected look on his face made me want to go and give him a hug. i want to tell him that it's ok and that he should still be proud of his game. i didn't think we had a chance against the colts and yet we played awesome. (the defense kind of stunk) |

Randy Moss didn't fumble away his team's chance to win the game. Also I think it does have 90% to do with not wanting to put more than one player/game on the list. |

It has a lot to do with recievers getting no love. Let's say for example the rational was not wanting more than one per game. The question then is did Javon do better than Manning. I think the answer is a resounding yes. A 200 yard 3 td game from a WR is way more rare than a 5 TD game from a qb. |

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 26, 2004) -- For Vikings Receiver Randy Moss, scoring touchdowns just isnt enough. During his teams 27-22 victory over division rival Chicago Bears, Moss caught a touchdown pass, and then proceeded to strike a disabled fan with the football, and then taunt the wheelchair ridden fan by celebrating in his face. One person reportedly said that he overhead Moss snidely tell the fan You cant jump with meGoll-ly. On his second touchdown reception, there was no doubting that his malignant post-touchdown celebration was choreographed as he got right back in the face of this poor fan, once again forcefully shoving the ball in his face. Moss recklessly ignored the protective barriers in place, as he pushed the purple velvet rope to the ground that was supposed to serve as protection for the fan. Although our reporters did not bother to talk to the fan directly, we would think that he will be pressing charges, as Moss has once again tried to prove that he is above the law. Moss has also made other questionable decisions such as this one as he has assaulted a referee with clear liquid that could have been sulphuric acid or another biological warfare technique, and he nearly killed a female police officer as he ran over her repeatedly for around 40 seconds. |

If Washington has 7 turnovers again tonight I'll take the lead!!! How screwed are many teams with injuries? The Bears will be lucky to win another game, Tampa Bay might win a few if they get some defensive touchdowns. Injuries have always been part of the game, but players seem to be dropping like flies this year. Did anyone watch the FOX pregame show Sunday? Bradshaw was doing his list of current top QB's and Farve was number 3 I think, anyway there was a clip of a Mike Holmgren talking about Farve and saying how Farve was such a good leader and then he said something like he wishes he was still coaching him. I've always wondered if Holmgren had second thoughts after leaving since it has taken him 6 years to really have a team that could win it all. I can only dream about what the Packers could have done in the last 6 years if he would have stayed. Farve's best years came with him as coach, and the Packers wouldn't have wasted a year with Rhodes and I've personally never really liked Sherman. |

Favre was rated number 2, Brady was rated number 1, for reasons I don't understand. yea, he's a good quarterback, and yea he's won 2 Super Bowls, but he's not spectacular or anything. Let me tell you about getting hosed. In one of my head to head leagues I needed 11 points to tie 12 to win and Testeverde gets me 10. That's hosed, ecspecially when I'm flipping back and forth between the Tonight Show and the game and flip back to the game to see Glenn's TD reception being challenged, challenge denied, I think I've got my points. Then Al Michels has to chime in with some comment about a good pass by Anderson, at which point my 2-0 record becomes 2-1. 9-5 this week, I'm making a comeback. 22-24 total. Nice job on the picks this week Jon. |

I needed 16 points points between Terry Glenn and John Hall to tie , and I only got 15. If washington would not have challeneged Glenn's TD, they would have had their TO left and John Hall could have kicked a game winning fieldgoal for me and I would have won for my week. Instead, I lose, despite having one of the highest league totals for the week (in a different league) |

Bears 22 @ Vikings 27
Jeremy
Chicago wont pull 2 out of their ass in a row. Last week was ugly, but other teams should be worried that the vikes were a penalty and 4 inches from 21 more points and the eagles were 2 penalties and a blown call from 21 less points. Cause it was still close and the eagles are as good as it gets.If the Vikes can get out of this one without losing 3 guys for the year it will be an improvement.
Matt
Vikings win 28 - 9.Daunte Culpepper and Johan Santana for MVP!!!
Jon
Daunte Culpepper had a "bad" game in the sense that he didn't dominate last week. He still played very well considering he had to shake off about three eagles defenders on every play. Look for Daunte to remind everyone how he's going to win MVP honors this year.Sarah
Well well. Minnesota gets a break. Like half of Chicago's team is out for this game. Lucky jerks. Oh yea, by the way, I'm being sarcastic. I don't get Viking fans. They have to try and make other people feel bad about their own teams. Well guess what, it doesn't work with this Packer fan. Do I think Chicago is going to pull an upset win like what they did to the Packers? No, 'fraid not. I do think it's kind of pathetic that Lovie Smith's number one goal was to beat the Packers. Now the Bears can be content with their season. Even if they end up 1-15. But I guess when you've only won 4 of the last 24 games against a team it'll get to you, but to people like me, the Chicago rivalry isn't that big of a deal.
