Cowboys 17 @ Vikings 35 |
JeremyThe Vikings OWN the cowboys. Remember Thanksgiving '98? Or the slaughtering in the playoffs a couple years back? Good times. The Cowboys passed on Moss…twice…and he always makes them pay for it. Moss starts his MVP bid this week.
MattAmazingly, neither team has retired Herschel Walker's number yet. Hopefully this oversight will be rectified soon. Look for Justin Morneau to have a big game. Minnesota 46 - Dallas 12
JonOk seriously, I think there is a really good chance of the Vikings making the Super Bowl and Daunte Culpepper being the MVP of the reglular season.
SarahAargh, how do I even decide who to root against in this game? They are both awful awful teams, who have not always been kind to my boys in Green Bay. Statistically, I have to make sure Dallas wins, but it's looking doubtful. Dang it. Dog it. D'oh. Two evils in one dome, things could get ugly. Very ugly.On a side note, isn't everyone excited to read our comments and look at our picks? I know I am. The first week is always a crap shoot because you don't really have a handle on how teams are really going to do. It's always a surprise. |
Chiefs 24 @ Broncos 34 |
JeremyWill Denver miss Portis? Who got the better end of that deal? Will KC’s D still suck? How is it week one and I have nothing to say? Remember the Randy Moss no look lateral to Moe, hands down the best play of the year, and it wasn’t even nominated for the ESPY.
MattI think Priest Holmes and the Chiefs will disappoint this year, starting with this game. Denver 21 - Kansas City 18
JonDenver is usually pretty good at home I think, but K.C. will probably score about five hundred points and I thnk the Denver O has only about four hundred in them.
SarahDo I care? Not so much. However, I think Denver will not have a caliber year. Jake the Snake? Again? Boring. Champ Bailey? Whoop te do. Will Kansas City have another 13-3 season and then blow it in the playoffs? Will Dick Vermeil cry? These questions and many more will be answered in the weeks to come. |
Packers 24 @ Panthers 14 |
JeremyI still fail to see how people can refer to the Packers as a Super Bowl team. They backed into the playoffs unlike any other team has, then lost their starting CB (cause it seems Green Bay isn’t the Utopia “That every player wants to play in” everyone makes it out to be.) and traded up to draft a punter only to keep two on the roster, and then handed a huge hunk of their remaining cap to a guy that doesn’t even make the roster. The only thing anyone ever sites as a reason is the fact that they returned all their starters on offense. Well there are lot of teams (the Vikes for one) who improved their team. If Favre or Ahman go down so do the Pack. The Vikes receiving corps are better without Moss than the Packers’, I mean really does the Driver-Ferguson 1-2 punch scare anyone?
MattHave I mentioned that football sucks yet? Anyway, the Packers will be lucky if they break .500 this year. Carolina 34 - Green Bay 17
JonIs this one on Monday night? Green bay versus Carolina. Carolina.
SarahMNF!!!! It couldn't get any better than this game. This is the game that should've been the NFC Championship last year. Damn the numbers 4th and 26. How horrible. It still hurts ALOT. This season we have to bounce back and just reach higher ground. NFC Championship anyone? Super Bowl anyone? Yezza. I'm so giddy. Are the Panthers a one hit wonder? Is Jake Delhomme? I hope so. Remember the '96 NFC Championship? Those were good times. Lets get some more good times before #4 retires. GO PACK GO! |

Not only did Jeremy rig last year's results, he rigged the previous year's as well. He also rigged the Page 3 Fantasy Football Draft this year, and I suspect the fix is already in on this years NFL picks. |

Indy, Buff, Chicago, Balt, San Diego, Tenn, NO, Jets, Oaktown, Zona, TB, Dallas, Philly, SF, KC, and Green Bay "The Vikes receiving corps are better without Moss than the Packers". That's complete bull honkey. Who's ever heard of Nate Burleson and Keenan Howry, who are listed as 3rd and 4th on the depth chart? Big ups to M-Rob, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy for 3 years. Fact is JWalker is primed for a break out season, much like Driver had 2 years ago. And so Driver-Ferguson doesn't in fact scare anyone, but Walker-Driver-Ferguson will be giving defensive coordinaters nightmares by mid-season (and I don't mean the Packers' defensive coordinaters). I will agree that if Farve or Green go down, the Pack are screwed, but what if Culpepper or Moss go down? The Vikings CHOKED even with those guys playing last year. And don't even try and tell me Frerotte is the schiznizzle, cause not even Phil Ivey could pull off that bluff. No HR's for Bonds tonight, and Ichiro is 0-3. How out of his mind is Santana? Did any see Hudson walk the bases loaded to start the game tonight? Don't forget to pick up Shaq's new cd so you can rap along and player hate on Kobe too! Has anyone even seen a can crusher at Menards? I couldn't find one. I would've asked an employee but I didn't see any cute women. I didn't see one at Fleet Farm either. How come all Fleet Farms (Farm & Fleet, same diff) have that same funky smell? And to end on some sad news, the Brewer-Pirates game today was rained out. The sad part? They aren't going to reschedule it because it doesn't even matter, anyone one can see, it doesn't even matter, to me, to me, to me. |

Yeah Gus had some really bad games last year.... Keenen Howry is 5th Kelly Cambell is 4th. Kelly had the most 40+ yard plays in the NFL last year (He had a 50 yard and 80 yard in the pre-season). Burleson is poised for a huge breakout and, if healthy, Robinson beats out Driver. You entire reciving corps combined did worse than randy did last year (and don't give me the "we spread the ball around" bs because EVERY team spreads the ball around.) So to summerize: Moss > (Driver + Walker + Ferguson) M Rob > Driver Burleson = Walker (We'll have to see how this plays out as both are just guys with "big upside" at this point.) Campbell >> Ferguson |

Does the driver-ferguson 1-2 punch scare anyone? No, because they aren't the 1-2 punch. Walker will probably emerge as the number 1 receiver as early as week 2 or 3. But who cares if they scare anyone. They could be the best kept secret, and sneak up on unsuspecting teams, which will happen. And seriously, the Packers did have the 4th best offense in the league last year, and they are returning. I don't understand why that isn't a good point to bring up. Oh yeah, it's cuz they're aren't the Vikings. And explain to me what how the entire packers receiving corps did worse than moss last year. Moss is awesome, don't get me wrong, but that statement makes no sense other than the fact the he scored more TD's than the the top 3 packer receivers. But in your attempts to discredit the packers of all their talent, you have very much credited Favre with very very much. IF the packers receivers are so bad, how did this QB who usually "hurts his team" lead the NFL in touchdown passes last year? (enter "interceptions" comment here) What's the point in just ripping the team to shreds. |

Shizzit, I forgot to add, how easy is it for Jeremy to paste in times of games along with the picks and what days the teams are playing? If its difficult, where do you guys go for an easy reference? What would be even cooler is if we could get whether or not the game will be televised, and what station. |

The Chiefs returned thier defense too, that doesn't make them good. Returning the 4th best O can't be bad, but my point was it's not like you automatically get that place again. Favre makes the recievers what they are, why do you think every reciever who leaves Green Bay has a horrible career, or at least a huge drop off after leaving? And you're right your top 3 guys did out catch and out yardage moss...by about 10 catches and 200 yards. Of course he had 2 more TD's but you do win games based on yards now right? :) |

ummm, I believe I heard Mike Sherman call dibs on the 4th spot again this year. And i found it interesting that you actually gave Favre a shred of credit.....and the Packers have never had good receivers under the Favre era (with 2 exception of Robert Brooks and Sterling Sharpe, who both had a couple 100 catch seasons). I just needed to state that Moss did not quite match the Packers top 3 receivers completely, he only almost did (note the sarcasm that I am comparing 3 receivers to one, I mean seriously, moss is good.) Can they handle the pressure? The Vikings have been picked to win the North by 12 of the 15 ESPN guys here . The Packers were picked twice and someone actually picked the Lions. 1 guy actually picked the Vikings to go to the Super Bowl (some also picked the Packers). Will they rise up to their standings, or will they choke (the Vikings that is). History might give you a hint |

It's kind of hard to do that. U just have to know that NFC games are on FOX except when the NFC team is hosting an AFC team, then it's on CBS. It's the opposite for AFC games on CBS. (they're on FOX when they are hosting an NFC team) Just watch commercials or go online and figure it out urself. :) GO PACK! |

When I bash Favre I bash Favre "The Media God of all creation" not Favre the player, who is good and a sure fire hall of famer. I bash the fact that he NEVER gets bashed by anyone. Every mistake he makes was/is someone elses fault. If Daunte single handedly ended the vikings season like 5 years running I would expect the blame to fall on him. Entering game times and channels would be a pain in the ass relative to where you are anyway. Most games are at noon and theres a rhyme and reason to what channels they're on. The games are listed in order they happen. The last game is always the monday night game and if there is a sunday night it's second to last. |

The fact that Moss is awesome has nothing to do with whether or not the rest of the Viking's WRs are better than all the Packer's WR. In fact I award u 0 points for that logic. If you want to know what time the games are, ESPN has them listed with the channel. Superbowl over Farve, though I don't see how that's possible. |

The only thing I was wrong about is that it's unfair to say Burleson = Walker do to their equal potential. So, until after this season, we'll say Burleson |

I guess you're right if you're going by career statistics. Although Robinson has never played a single regular season snap for the Vikings, but whatever. I'll bet you a beer that at the end of the year, you can add up those stats again and the Packers' trio will come out on top. |

You fail to realize, or at least fail to mention, that Ahman Green was the teams 2nd leading receiver last year with 50 receptions. So if you're going to compare receivers, you have to count Green in there. I didn't realize that moe williams had so many receptions. Why are we still talking about this? |

Comparing Favre and Culpepper's 4th year of being the starter........Favre 38 TD's 14 int, 4413 yards, pass rating 99.5, MVP........Culpepper 25 td's, 11 ints, 3479 yards, pass rating 96.4.....just interesting I'd like to know what games Favre single handedly lost in the playoffs? The only one that comes to mind is the St. Louis game in 2001 when he threw 6 ints. If the packers blow a 4th and 26 is that Favre's fault? To answer the earlier question, there is no bowl this year without Favre. |

Favre's rocket launch pass ended that game. If I'm not misten there was another Ramesq playoff appearence, or game that kept you out of the playoffs. 5 was an exageration. The question wasnt can the pack win the bowl without favre. Lets say favre would play 2-4 more years unless he wins the super bowl this year it which case he goes out on top. Would you want the bowl or a few more years of brett? I just bought a ticket to the Cowboy game and I'm pumped! I was kind of bummed that my 2 bros, dad, and uncle were going which meant I had to miss opening day, but then the cowboys returned 400/500 tickets. Just a few years ago we were offered like $200 a peice for our tickets for a cowboy game, now it appears the wheels have come off the bandwagon. Luckily those people still have the Lakers and Yankees to fall back on. |

Maybe if we were talking about running backs I would put him in there...but we weren't. My point was that we aren't as screwed as people think if we lose Moss. I justified my point using the example that our corps without Moss is better than yours. No one believed me so I proved it and suddenly it's a non issue...just interesting. |

I don't necessarily think the Vikings are that screwed without moss, but when a team loses it's number 1 guy, in any situation, it puts the other players in a much different role. If Moss gets hurt or something, the defense won't have to worry about him anymore and can play a more balanced defense. A guy like Moss can raise the stats of other players around him. I think anyway. |

one thing that does some is that robinson hasn't played with the vikings yet. Driver has averaged over 100 more yards per season than robinson. Without Moss, the groups are even at best, with the advantage going to the Packers. Those stats are misleading. But who cares. if you compare the guys according to experience.......Driver has the edge over robinson according to "per year averages".......Campbell has an edge over ferguson.......and Walker has an edge over Burleson. |

AND!!!!!!!!!! in the last 2 years Driver has averaged 61 catches and 800 yards, while robinson has averaged 26 catches and 347 yards in the same number of games. What happened there? and, not counting their first years (they each only played 5 and 3 games), driver has averaged 543 yards and 39 catches, while robinson averaged 517 yards, 35 catches. Where is the edge now? Robinson does have more touchdowns, but every other category belongs to driver. (when comparing these 2) |

This: "If Moss gets hurt or something, the defense won't have to worry about him anymore and can play a more balanced defense. A guy like Moss can raise the stats of other players around him." is very true. Don't you think that at least part of the reason Campbell lead the league in 40+ yard plays last year was that Moss was probably occupying the best CB and S and maybe a LB underneath so Campbell was left to be covered one on one by a not so great defensive player? I'm not saying he sucks and he's obviously got some wheels but still. I was about to comment on this: "Luckily those people still have the Lakers and Yankees to fall back on." but then I wasn't sure if you're just foolish or I detected a hint of sarcasm. |

I wont be surprised if Walker is your #1 by the end of the year, if nothing else then because Driver (who I like) has to be one of the worst #1's in the league. Granted the Colts have a good offense, but do you think the Pat's are worried about their D? I mean if the Colts don't blow 3 red zone chances and a FG this could have been a blowout. Yes your top 3 will probobly pass our 2-4 (which isn't really something you wanna bet on :) ) because its hard to get the ball to 4 people |

Obviously Campbell is helped by moss but he would still just have the nickleback/safety on him without moss. You can't tell me that Robinson's stats don't matter because he hasn't played for the Vikings and then argue the 2 previous Viking's stats don't matter because they did. And yes Scott if you pick out one guys best seasons and another guys worst that is a fair comparison. ;) ps that other comment i just wrote was written last night, I dont know why it didnt get posted. |

Miami pulled off the win. Good game. Rix is the first college QB to lose to the same team 5 times. Many of those he could blame on the kicker, but he pretty much sucked tonight. Also, Miami's play calling was excellent down the stretch. That ABC coverage team is annoying though. Musberger, Arute, and someother dweeb. I'm pretty sure that Musberger had about four different comments for the entire second half of the game and he just kept repeating them in an endless loop. I really think I could be a sportscaster compared to a lot of people that are out there. Maybe in 5 years when I'm sick of being a computer nerd I'll try out for dream job if they still have that going. Or maybe I can take over for Uecker when he retires. UNLV is the next opponent for the Badgers. Looks like Davis is out for at least 3 weeks. Not cool. They always seem to have more running backs though, so I'm not too worried about that. I'll be looking for Stocco to be a little more consistent this week. He only had a 44% completions last week. 37-10 Wisconsin. |

That Viking getting hurt on the turf in warmups was a pretty lame way to get hurt. Build a new stadium already. I must admit that I was rooting for the Bears today. The second to last play (draw) was a good call, but I didn't like that last play. When you need a touchdown and you're on the 10, you need to get 4 or 5 receivers out there and try to create some confusion. Still, Rex made a mistake. He'll learn. The Lions and Bears both have young teams, I personally think they'll mostly suck this year, but they're going to get better. Testeverde is the man!! I loved him on Super Tecmo Bowl III for SNES, let's see if he's still got the goods 30 years later! |

I don't know if you can still change the league settings, but I just realized that 1 point per reception is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much. Check this out: Jamal Lewis 58 yards, 0 rec Travis Henry 77 yards, 3 receptions for 9 yards Obviously Henry had a slighty better game. But 3 times better?? Lewis 2 points Henry 6 points Henry got an extra 3 points on receptions that were probably just about meaningless. That's half a TD. Doesn't seem right to me. Anyone want to trade for Lewis? |

Ok, I just picked up my boy Dayne on two teams too. Wheatley and Garner go bye-bye. I hear the Vikings doing well in the living room and it makes me not want to go back there. What's the record for posts in a week? I think we could get 200 at some point. Cubs got slaughtered today. The NL wild-card race is ridiculously blicky. Julio sucks, the O's got a raw deal with him. Brewers brought out the big sticks today, 4 bombs. Remember win Cleveland was within 2 games or so of Minnesota? Me neither. Robinson just scored. I guess if he's healthy I'll probably not make that trade. Miami doesn't have a QB anyway. |

I'm officially jumping on the Chargers bandwagon. I didn't see the game and I know it was just Houston, but looking at the stats it looks like Brees had a good game. As a Big Ten fan, I know what he can do and I still think he can have a good NFL career. As long as they win to start the season hopefully they'll just keep Rivers on the bench ala Bengals style. Plus LT is the best all-around RB in the game right now. Dallas just scored so I can go back into the living room. |

Oh yea baby! He didn't want to play with us, but he'll play for Parcells. Whatever, we've got WAY better receivers than him. Ok i'm waiting to post til i hear the final say. I hope that it's a td. Corey Chavous a pro bowler? riiiight...... as long as the cowboy's Offense is on the field longer than the Vikings, than they should be ok. yes! it is a TD! |

Rivers is too greedy. He wasn't the first pick of the draft and didn't deserve the money of one. I can't remember the final numbers, but he's a loser. we signed al harris to a 5 year extension. i bet mckenzie is rolling around in his football grave. see what playing will get u? mo' money. |

1 point a reception makes WRs more valuable, but it makes the already most important fantasy position (RB) even more unproportionately valuable. Moss only had 6.8 yards per catch. All 3 of the Packers' receivers have better career averages than that! |

Ichiro needs 27 hits in 20 games. Bonds hit 699. 'Koplove, the 414th pitcher to allow a home run to Bonds, didn't want to work around him. "It's always fun to go out there and try to get him out," Koplove said. "I'm not the first guy. It's a long list."' Hopefully the Brewers realize that they're season is over and pitch to Bonds this week. I'm not saying lob up meatballs just to watch him smash it, that's what batting practice is for. But they should try to get him out and not just walk him, as tough as that is. |

I just bought tickets for the games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rightfield bleachers. I'm almost peeing my pants I'm so excited. I might have to take vacation Thursday cause it's a day game. Hopefully that won't be necessary. I have to make sure to have a few beers early in the game so I'm ready to sacrifice my body if number 700 would happen to come anywhere near me. I wonder who's pitching..... Davis and de la Rosa. Both lefties, not that it matters with Bonds. de la Rosa has given up 1 HR in 6.2ip and Davis has given up 14 HR in 180.1ip. Only 14 is pretty good. Jamie Moyer has given up 41 in 178.2ip. That's pretty bad. Oh well. Both games I'll be in the second level of the rightfield bleachers. Tuesday I'll be pretty near the line I think 8 rows up and Wednesday I'll be one section over from the line maybe 8 rows up again. |

Daunte for MVP!!! He signed my ticket after the game. How did the Vikes win by that much? Either dallas doesn't still have the #1 D or the Vikes have the greatest offense ever. and... Either Dallas has a good offense or once again the Vikes D is crap. I guess they did only give up 17 despite special teams putting them in a bind. However if a team needs 60+ yards in less than 30 seconds you can't let them score, let alone do it without making them even need a time out. I will die a happy man if I never see a prevent D or squib kick again. Id take booker (he's a #1 right?) Rivers should get as much as he can. The 1 point per reception was a way to close the gap between rbs and wr (even though yes it makes some rbs more valuable) Changing it now is unfair. There's a reason I picked Moss and Harrison #2 and #3 as opposed to a RB. You all knew the scoring system before we started. |

I know you think you benefit most from the receptions, but you'll see different. Running backs that make a lot of catches will be crucial in this league. For you, Holmes and Dillon don't catch many balls. Williams did last year, but if Smith and Bennett are both healthy and not suspended you can't ever play him (Well you can if want). Ok wait, I just checked the stats from last and Holmes did catch quite a few. He's has 2 for -2 yards tonight, and you'll get 2 points (the equivalent of 40 rushing yards)for that. Honestly, if you think that's a good formula then you're crazy. But you're right that's the rules and we shouldn't change them now. I just didn't realize it would make such a big difference as far as RBs are concerned. Whether Scott had this in mind when making his picks or not I don't know, but he's got the right guys. LT led the league in receptions last year (for all positiosn), Tiki will get his catches (5 for 75 today) and Westbrook will definitely catch his share of balls (especially with defenses keying on Owens). Booker is number 2 to Chambers I believe. Rivers is just a dumb name. He's going to get his chance cause they paid him so much, so when they ditch Brees the Packers should pick him up to replace Farve. This new look Cowboys team has just moved up quite a few notches on my favorite-to-hated list. With the way teams change now-a-days it's not fair to hate them for the team they used to be (other than Jerry Jones is still there). It's a whole different team and I like the idea of a bunch of veteran has-beens coming together for one last hurrah. Testeverde, George, Glenn, Keyshawn, plus mixed in with that they have some good young players. So for this year anyway they probably move up to high middle of the list. And just in case you're wondering, Minnesota is still dead last on that list, only cause they're division rivals. Otherwise New England would definitely hold that honor. |

Oh yeah, and third to last on my list is the Lions. To somewhat contradict what I just said about not holding grudges, I will forever hate them for ending the career of the greatest running back ever. I don't know who's call that was or if they are still part of the organization, but you have to be a damn fool and obviously not a fan of the game to let Barry simply quite because you're team has sucked forever and you won't let him go. I don't mean to advocate TO like behavior, but it wasn't about money and I'm sure they could've gotten practiculy whoever and whatever they wanted if they would've traded him. |

I'm by no means a Lions fan, but Im outraged that they never let him try and be on a good team. he deserved that much out of them. How can u hate New England? We beat them in the Super Bowl. Here are the teams I hate: Vikings Broncos Cowboys Eagles To a lesser extent: 49ers (only because they screwed us in 98)(well technically 99) Falcons (for ending butler's career) Um.... I can't stand to look at the face of anyone on New Enland. They're just ugly and all-around annoying. I also dislike the Broncos (Shanahan is crazy, plus I was quite the Raiders fan for a while and I liked KC in the Montana era) and the Eagles (do I really need to explain), although I do like TO. Falcons were cool back in the Deion/Rison days. I was actually hoping TO would go there. I've never liked Seattle (Holmgren?) or Tampa Bay or Chicago either. Tampa Bay especially when the "experts" picked them to win the Super Bowl like 6 years in a row. Looks like they'll suck this year though, yeaayyyy! |

Oh yeah, Gruden is retarded for benching Keyshawn too. And then trading him for a WR that gets injured every other game. What a moron! Oh wait, Tampa Bay is also retarded for not ponying up for McCardell because A) He's good. B) The oft-injured Galloway had to leave the game today because of a groin injury. I have no beef with Galloway, but Tampa Bay is run by a bunch of fools. |

I'm "full of it", I'm hip, I'm with it. Everything I've read so far, pretty much confined to ESPN Insider and other things, have given the Packers a slight edge in tonights game. Things to watch for........ The Matchup between the Packers O-line and the Panthers D-line. One person said that the packers have one of the only Offensive lines that can stand up the Panthers D-line straight up, without having to use double teams and mismatches. Basically, the Panthers' biggest strength may possibly be neutralized in this case. The weak secondary by both teams. The Packers should be able to exploit the weak Panthers d-backs, but the Panthers probably don't have the passing attack to really attack the weakened Packers secondary. Stephen Davis could exploit the Packers D-line, but unless the panthers can open up their passing game, Davis will become the focus of both the offense and the defense. However, the Panthers O-line is starting 2 backups at right guard and right tackle, and someone making their first career start at left guard. Despite the Packers weak defensive line, the Panthers could have trouble opening up holes for Davis, and the passing game could struggle to develop without giving Delhomme much of a pocket. My prediction: Packers 27 Panthers 19 |

Why the Packers are gonna beat the Panthers tonite. Its simple.. they have the greatest athelete on the planet, Brett Favre. The 3 time MVP is still going strong and I predict a 28-7 blowout tonite. Plus Favre is wired tonite, so all of America will finally get the chance to see and hear this phenom in action. and incase you didnt know, he has started about 10,000 games in a row, an NFL record of course, and I see the streak continuing for the rest of the season. alright, almost game time, peace. |

Cal's streak is "bigger" I think, all though "bigger" is kind of vague. Even great players end up taking a few games off during the season, whether it be to nurse an injury, or because of a doubleheader, so for Cal to play every game for that long is extremely impresive. Football players are supposed to play every week, though Farve's ability to stay healthy (in the football sense of the word) is also impressive. Carolina has a good passing game, don't be fooled. They didn't have Mushin for most of last year, but now that he's healthy and Delhomme has more experience, they got game. |

I take my comment back about the facemask, seeing that the refs have called 3 of them already. And no, his hand did not touch his facemask. His forearm grazed it, which isn't a penalty. And yes, the Packers do usually have the refs in their pockets, so I shouldn't complain i guess. Ok, last comment of the game |

This is a tough game to analyze. On one hand Green bay's running game looked great. On the other hand carolina played like crap on both sides of the ball gave the packers 2 gift "we do nothing and find the ball in our hands" turnovers and still only lost by 10. Jake was missing wide open guys left and right, either overshooting them or not seeing them. I don't know what to make of this season yet. |

Wow. What a great game! All the ESPN Sportscasters picked Carolina to win, but we showed them! I hope Grady Jackson isn't out long..... but he might be. Everyone was just really impressive. Henderson beat his last year's total of catches by getting two in this first game. Ahman looked great, I was hoping he'd break a long one, but beggars can't be choosy. The bottom line is that he got the job done. Favre, while his numbers aren't impressive, did what he had to do to win. I wish Ferguson hadn't gotten that pass interference call, but then Green got the TD and that helped my fantasy team. :) I hope this game changes a few people's minds about how the Pack is going to do this year. The NFC North is definitely going to be an interesting division this year. Can't wait for next Monday Night's game. That'll be a good match up and I can't wait to see the outcome. We play the Bears next week so I can't say I'm too worried. WTG Offensive line and WTG defense! |

Bonds didn't get it tonight. Although his second swing of his first at bat, if he would have connected, that ball might have cleared the stadium. And I mean out the roof not through the opening. Even from right field you could see how hard he swung, the whole staduim was like "wooohh!". They walked him intentionally once, but his other 4 at bats he got some pitches to hit. I thought Davis handled him very well. Got ahead early, managed to get some high heat past him, and then kept it around the corners. Brewers still didn't win of course. But of the teams in the chase for the wild card, I'd like to see San Fransisco or Florida take it anyway. How cool is this? So around the 5th inning, between innings, I'm looking at the scoreboard and I see something about free AAA service in the parking lot. Then about the bottom of the 8th I realize that I locked my keys in my truck. So after the game I go to Guest Relations and tell them, and they radio to a guy in the parking lot. I get out there and he unlocks my truck for free! Sweet. Although after seeing him unlock my truck with his tools in .5 seconds, I wonder if it's even worth locking in the first place. Green Bay won, I feel asleep in the 3rd so I don't really have much to say about it. You know what I want to see Monday? I'd pay good money to see Moss and Owens cover each other. Wouldn't that be cool? |

Apparently McKenzie is going to report for pratice tomorrow and end his holdout. But he is still demanding a trade. I think he's just coming back because the Packers beat the defending NFC champions. So, like whatever. As long as he plays hard so they can trade him to the AFC for a bunch of draft picks, then fine, be that way. |

as long as we're talking about gifts, here's one. The Packers committed 2 costly penalties on 3rd down (one of which of QUESTIONABLE at best) that extended Panther drives and led to their only 2 touchdowns. Without those penalties the Packers may have won 24-0. So the Packers handed out their share of gifts too. |

No homerun. But I remembered why I don't like to go to games tonight. A) Loud and/or obnoxious people in my vicinity. B) People who are talking about baseball, whether it be stats, or terminology, or whatever, who seem to think they know what they are talking about, but 80% of the baseball knowledge proceeding from their lips is false and wrong. I'm not saying I know everything, but anyway if u know what I mean u know what I mean, and if you don't know what I mean, you're probably one of them. C) The Brewers have lost every game I've gone to. D) No instant replay or commentary. E) 1 20 oz beer at the ballpark costs more than a sixpack at the grocery store. F) Bleacher seats are not comfortable. G) Traffic. H) Some guy behind me sprayed it instead of saying it. I) People having to walk back and forth all the time. |

The official start of the season, and it's about time! New England is even stronger and scarier this year, so even though the Colts will certainly not be a bad team, they aren't going to win this game. Let's see what Corey Dillion does with his new team, he should have a good year. Plus, Tom Brady is still hot, so gotta go with him.
