Broncos 20 @ Vikings 28 |
JeremyThis game has huge implications. If the Vikings win everyone can finally stop the "they haven't beaten anyone yet" argument. If the Vikings lose because Daunte stuggles we'll have to listen to all the Daunte Haters for the rest of the season.
MattJake Plummer won't play for the Broncos this week. While Beuerlein is a solid QB, I still have to say that this is a break for the Vikings. Minnesota 41 - Denver 21
JonOh, the football season started. Remember when Ed McCaffrey singlehandedly beat the Vikings that one year? Ok it wasn't singlehandedly, but remember when that happened?
SarahIt is harder for teams without a loss to stay that way, and that is why i'm picking Denver. Plus, I think the bye jinxed the Vikings. Also, Gus Frerotte is being replaced by some guy named Culpepper who has had some bones break in his spine. Sounds encouraging. Yea yea, the Vikings will probably win, but I'm going with the oddsmakers and picking the Broncos. |
Chiefs 17 @ Raiders 10 |
JeremyHey look at that, we get to talk about them both. I still think KC is overrated, but maybe their offense isn't as unbalanced as I thought they were. Trent Green finally got me some fantasy points. What in the world is up with Oakland? I still think they are the worst team in the league because no one expected teams like Arizona, Detroit, Chicago, and the Bungles to do anything. I guess age finally caught up with them. ESPN is calling for Gannon's backup, Gannon is one year removed from league MVP.
MattOakland has a bunch of old guys playing. Kansas City 24 - Oakland 23
JonOK here's the thing: I went back to look at last year's records of our picks and I noticed that somewhere around week 17 I actually picked up an "extra" win (and therefore had one fewer loss). Well I was all ready to bring this up and concede the fact that I actually tied for second and didn't win it outright. But then I noticed that I had been shortchanged two wins earlier in the year around week two.So, the records are actually off by a game in each column. Rahter than finishing 149 - 117 - 1, I think I finished 150 - 116 - 1. I'm not here to infer anything, just that I think I had a different record than the one I got credit for. Kansas City.
SarahOakland is still traumatized over the Super Bowl loss, so they apparently aren't allowed to win games anymore. However, seeing as these peoples are rivals, it should make for an interesting game. |

I would just like to reach out to all those people who have been Cubs fans for so long, and those who have been diehard Cubs fans for, ummm, the last 2 weeks. It must be tough following a team that long and for them to blow it the way they did. See me, I'm a fairweather Brewers fan. What I mean by that is, I only follow them when they are losing, and ummm......what.....hej......bujo......watch me now.......Yes I'm awesome!!! Ok, seriously, the Cubs blew it, and I really don't feel that bad for them. Now I'm rooting for the lesser of two evils in the ALCS, the Red Sox. Go Brewers!!! |

It is now indeed time for every one across the country to band together in thier hatred of the Yankees. Or you can just say screw baseball because as we proved here on Page 3 (Presented by Bank One) baseball is a inferior sport to the likes of football. |

Who's proven that? Two weak articles about football compared to one gloriously written, well documented, well supported masterpiece by matt about baseball; I beg to differ. But whatever, I hope the yankees lose. Clemens vs. Pedro tonight. I think it's a pay per view event actually. Watch out, cuz someone's getting hurt. Oh yeah, Go Badgers (over purdue). |

Matt doesn't even believe half the things he wrote in his article. I guess he is the most beloved writer after all. |

Indeed. Brian Russell and Corey Chavous signed my Gameday flyer thing today. If someone would have told me before the season that the Vikings safties would be having a competition for the most interceptions in the league I would have thought they were crazy. |

So, I knew the Packers weren't going to win today, I mean that's a given. Dome? Turf? Run away!!! I wasn't going to comment this week because I'm still upset about Scott's comments about my article. But, whatever. However, I do have to comment on my performance this week. How bad am I???? Like I was telling Matt, I can't pick opposite of Vikings and I will have to start picking against my beloved Pack where I feel necessary. Obviously 2 weeks from now I will pick the Pack, no question about that. Too bad the trade deadline has passed, because we need new runningbacks. We could've SO won this game had it not been for the fumbles brought on by "our team" aka Ahman Green. Also, Najeh "freak" Davenport fumbled again. THe whole job of the runningback is to give a little security. Passes are picked off all the time, but RB's are suppose to hold onto the ball. C'mon guys! Good game Favre!!! The other Page 3 writers don't know what they're talking about. yea, Green is good, but he's not the leader of the team. Give me a break. Ok now what? Tampa Bay lost, so that's always good. What could I do with $50000? I don't know but I know what Sapp is going to do. Ha! Sucker! Ok, so back to me, I have let myself down horribly and with the Packers on a bye next week, I promise to make my picks better. I was in 2nd place before this week, and I will bounce back!!! Bring it on. |

Who said anything about leaders? As Ahman Green goes, so do the Packers. If you Packer fans can't see that then fine. |

How bad is a team getting beat when Kijana Carter gets a TD on them? |

Whoever is the leader doesn't really matter to us. Favre is most likely the leader of the team as far as "being a leader" goes. However, when Ahman Green runs for 100+ yards, the Packers are 15-1 or something like that (the one loss was last week to KC). Take from that what it's worth. But whatever, it isn't important and whatever the answer is doesn't take away from the fact that Favre is one of the top 5 (maybe higher) QB's of all time, hands down. Ok, now I plan on playing video games for the next several hours. |

Joey Harrington finished with 30 yards passing and had a QB rating of 7.1 in the first half. Joey was benched and the two QBs went on to combine for a QB rating of 2. Owies |

Packers 24 @ Rams 34
Jeremy
Green Bay choked hardcore last week. This week they play away on turf. They never fair well givin those two conditions. What the hell were they doing punting to Hall? They direction the kickoffs and have 2 roll out of bounds resulting in big penalties, then when the time comes to punt and it would be perfectly fine to punt out of bounds they don't and it almost cost them 7 and did cost them many a return yard.Matt
It's gotta be tough when the only worthwhile player on your whole team, fumbles on the most important drive of the game. On the other hand, St. Louis looked good last Monday night. St. Louis 49 - Green Bay 7Jon
Wow, tough loss for the Packers last week. Meanwhile, the Rams had a shutout on Monday. Usually when that kind of thing happens it means a Packer blowout this week, but I'm not picking the Packers. It is the year of the Ram. Seriously, I think it is. Check it out.Sarah
This really pains me. Green Bay is going to play in a dome, and they are 3-3. Chances are very good that they will lose to this St. Louis team. VERY GOOD. However, I can't go with the Rams on the off chance that the Packers will win and then I would not have picked my team and that could be bad karma. Maybe they'll put Kurt Warner in and then BAM! the Pack wins the game. I can't wait for the bye. BTW, who's been the biggest bust around? That would be Joe Johnson. Hasn't done much and by the 5th and 6th games of the two years he's been with us, he's been put on the IR. WTG!
