I guess it boils down to this. Mark Murphy, said that he is guessing Favre will be back. However, they are kinda making a big deal about the whole thing (like something's going on). I think this is good news, if he is coming back, he liked what he heard from management. I expect some trades in the near future. Also, some supposed insiders on the packer forums seem to think it's the real deal. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3267834 |

One turd for making something out of nothing. What kind of trades are you expecting? |

Not my fault ESPN radio reported it wrong initially. Good thing you can re-rate. Trades on the Table: That franchise tender is too steep for Ted Thompson so I expect him to take advantage and get something for Williams instead of just releasing him or letting him go as an UFA. The Saints and Denver are most interested but there is some who believe the Falcons are offering a 3rd and a player for Williams. The Saints are said to want Williams and have offered Will Smith DE. The same for Oakland wanting Williams and said to be offering Michael Huff FS/SS for Williams and a Packers draft pick. EDIT(TM): I think Brett will announce tomorrow before the FA period begins on Friday. Better chance of landing premium players when they know they will be playing with a legend. |

Doubt it. They're deep at D-line when everyone is healthy, but that's pretty much never. They signed 1 free agent and made a trade or 2 last year, I don't expect much more action this year after a good season. They could bring in a name at DB but I'm not expecting much besides that. Unless they want to go after Michael Turner or Marion Barber if he opts out or Julius Jones. I'm not sure if they think some of the young guys they have can be a #2 RB and although Grant was good I wouldn't say he was so good that they aren't considering bringing big talent in. They need depth on the O-line but I'm guessing they'll address that in the draft. |

I think the Huff trade would be great for the Packers. Huff also is a name at DB, many coaches feel he would be better suited at CB anyway. Why not get big value on back up talent? I agree, and have stated for some time that if Marion Barber becomes available you get him in. The Packers will be active in free agency. |

It is believed to be for a second round #57. This makes Ted look like a genius. One of many links. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/02/free_agent_update_1.html?nav=rss_blog |
