The 54th meeting of Mexico and US right now!!! Please give it a chance if you have nothing better to do. It's a rivalry game and rivalry games make any sport more fun to watch. Do it.

Edit: ESPN2

Edit: Just in case anyone is wondering, this game actually means nothing except bragging rights. I don't want to over-hype it.

Well, a 2-2 tie and really Mexico probably played better. The US midfield was pretty weak.

I saw about 5 minutes of it, then quit. It was 2-2, and got bored. I did give it a chance, though.

I think any mentioning of it at all might count as over hyping it, it is Soccer afterall.

I don't mind soccer if there's something "at stake." Matt and I generally watch all the US World Cup matches we can, and this year I watched most of the US women's world cup matches as well. For me, most sports are fun at the international level when it's the olympics or world cup or something. I even watch volleyball during the olympics sometimes.

The World Cup is absolutely the pinnacle of soccer watching, but it's still 2 years away. I'm thinking it will be even more exciting if I'm actually am somewhat familiar with the US team beforehand.

United States vs. England in a friendly today. 2 pm CT on ESPN Classic. I'll be watching.

They will also be playing friendlies against Spain (June 4th) and Argentina (June 8th). These 3 matches should be interesting to say the least.

In soccer, exhibition matches are called friendlies. I don't know why, but they are.

I didn't know if it meant something like- "a match that doesn't ultimately change anything" or interleague-like play... you know. I'm ignorant.

Sheesh that's quite a schedule. They just lost 2-0 to the weakest of those three teams. I assume there will be a Nutcan Euro 2008 Fantasy League? Right? emoticon
