It's been a very busy trade week. The Marlins fire sale appears complete, unfortunately Pierre (who I like) went to the Cubs (who I despise).

The Brewers moved Overbay, so the Fielder era has officially started. Despite Melvin's refusal to admit it, they really had to move Overbay. Keeping them both wasn't a realistic option. Sounds like they picked up some decent rookie/prospect guys, 2 pitchers and an outfielder. I'm not sure how many OFs teams usually keep on the roster, but I'm thinking the battle for those bench spots should be a good one next spring.

They also traded to get Kolb back. They traded Obermueller who has been given plenty of opportunities and has just never stepped up. The Brewers are hoping that by hooking Kolb back up with Maddux he can return to his 2004 form, although he'll probably be a setup man for Turnbow this time around.

might I remind you that the Brewers finished only 2 games behind the Twins last year?
