Wisconsin and the Election

The Battle for Wisconsin
This article talks about Wisconsin's place in the upcoming election. It also makes me ashamed to be a Wisconsin resident.
P.S. Sarah, you don't have to read the whole thing, but you do have to at least read the first few paragraphs.
P.P.S. This article does come from a conservitive publication so it leans to the right but those parts can be skipped,if you so choose, without missing the good stuff.

So he's not brain washed by the media's non stop campain to make everyone think the Packers/Lambeau Field are/is the greatest thing ever. Makes me want to vote for him more. I bet Kerry knows who Britney Spears is. |

ps Tackling was indeed allowed at that scrimmage. pps the vikings sold out their scrimmage too, which wasn't at their new stadium (the packers didn't sell out the scrimmage out before the "new" lambeau field.) The city of Blaine also charged twice as much as the packers were charging. pps If the packers were so great to their fans people wouldnt have to stand 20 (more like 2) looking through a fence because they would accomodate for them like the Vikings do. |

The Packers scrimmages have always had over 40000 people at them, and this year had over 60,000. Compared to the Vikings sold out 20000. The Packers only charged $8 and not $20, so there. Alright, now I should actually read the article. |

The Vikings didn't charge anything. The city of Blaine did. If anything that just shows how much more even it is. If it was held at a bigger capacity stadium at half the price who knows how many people would have shown up? What does this prove? That there is nothing to do in either Wisconsin or Minnesota. |

I've been hearing about the proscution being in trouble for a few weeks now so, while it does surprise me a bit, it didn't come as a total surprise. |

It's not a surprise. What did Doug want the Twins to do? If he said he wasn't going to share time with Morneau, what other alternative was there? |

Does anyone else think I could be a better baseball analyst than John Kruk? Seriously. I'd put a link to his article on Page 2, but I don't want to torture anyone. It's painful to watch him on TV, and his writing isn't any better. Brewers traded Burba to the Giants for a minor league pitcher. That's a good move to get anything for a guy that old. Packers traded Anderson to the Raiders for a 5th and 6th round pick. I'm not so sure I like that one as much. Ok, I guess they still have 5 safeties, although I don't know much about 2 of them and Jue is a flake. Maybe contract situations were a factor. |

2004 Preseason: Vikings 3 tds in 4 opening drives. Packers 2 tds in 4 games. |

2004 Preseason: Who gives a rip? 6 days until it actually matters. Then I'll start worrying about the scores. College football has started though. Should be fun to see how the new Badgers QB does. 150yds guaranteed for Davis, aka Heisman sleeper. Who would have thought that the Red Sox would have closed it down to 2.5 games? As exciting as the start of football is, this month still belongs to baseball. The Sox and Yanks have 6 games against each other yet. Not that I'm a fan of either team (I hate the Yankees, but the Red Sox are practically becoming a mirror image), but as a baseball fan it's still exciting. |

Obviously preseason doesnt count for anything, but youve got to be worried that the packers scored the fewest points they ever had and have the worst ranked offense in the league, despite playing thier starters mor than any other team. |

Being 100% serious and not putting on my stereotype annoying Packer's fan hat, I'm honestly not worried at all. The point of preseason isn't to win or score points. Coaches don't necessary call their best plays, or even call plays based on the situation. The starters are out there, but the entire starting unit usually doesn't play together that long. It's like playing fake Texas Hold'em, you know just for free, and then if you go all in and lose you just grab some more play chips. There just isn't the same edge, the same sense of urgency, the same focus, the same adrenaline rush, because preseason is MEANINGLESS. 2 years ago when the Packers where 3-1 and 5 years ago when they were 4-0, I still said who cares, so I'm not just saying it cause they were 1-3 this year. ps They ended up 8-8 after their 4-0 preaseason in 99. Almost time for the Badgers. |

I would agree in most cases, except in this case the starting o was sent out specifically to get points many times. |

ps. I also want to say that although preseason records are meaningless (the vikes are 2-2 despite the starters manhandling teams on both sides of the ball) there are some things you can look at that signal trouble ahead, and I think this is one of those times. |

It took them a month and a half, but the Brewers finally realized that the All-Star game signifies only the middle of the season, not the end. Or maybe they were playing golf, where low scores are good. Anyway, they're finally hitting the ball. |

Viking fans can think what they want this year; I'm not going to argue with them this year (or at least I'll try, yeah right). I'm gonna let the games speak, and the fact that the vikings will find a way to blow yet another season. I just hope the Packers don't do the same thing. 8 days and counting |

I don't care if you don't like golf, ya'll should be watching the final round right now. Tiger just drained a 60 yard chip to pull within one stroke of Vijay for the tournament. The kicker? They are paired together and the winner between them will also be the #1 player in the world, a title which Tiger has held for 5 years. Does it get any better than that? Also Adam Scott, the winner of this tournament last year has made like 5 birdies in a row and is only 2 back now. |

I don't know what to think about this preseason. The Packers offense wasn't exactly impressive. But I do know that the Packers are the only team to have their entire offense, all 11 starters from last year, returning, who by the way had the 4th best offense in football last year, behind the Chiefs, the Colts, and the Enemy, I mean the Vikings. So I don't think I need to be too worried, although I'm sure it's possible to be disappointed. |

The Packers can score 40 points a game all year, cause their defense is gonna give up 45 |
